The United States Nuclear Infrastructure Council (NIC) is an influential 40-member-plus,� not-for-profit, hybrid American “think tank” advocate for new nuclear energy build in the U.S. as well as a leading proponent for deployment of the U.S. nuclear supply chain globally.� The Council’s members represents the "Who's Who" of the global “new build” nuclear energy industry.�
Key Council strategic priorities include:� 1) Launching the next wave of U.S. nuclear energy plants; 2) Revitalizing the U.S. supply-chain infrastructure and competing in the global market; and 3) Resolving key building block issues such as a sustainable fuel cycle.
The Council’s programs and activities features a monthly “Policy Exchange” program; a monthly Capitol Hill discussion series; a quarterly Capitol Hill Nuclear Roundtable; an annual State of the Industry Summit and Distinguished Leadership Award; a Global Perspectives Program focused on emerging markets; topical communiqu�s on “breaking” issues; and ten working groups �including coordination of the U.S. Recycling Advisory Panel and Sustainable Fuel Cycle Task Force.
The Council has coordinated four major international fact-finding missions focused on in-country infrastructure in France, United Kingdom, Japan, Sweden, Finland and Switzerland.� The Council is the sponsor of the U.S. Pavilion at the India Nuclear 2011 convention and a member of the American Nuclear Society’s 2011 India Mission.
