NIC at a Glance

The United States Nuclear Infrastructure Council (NIC) is an influential 40-member-plus, not-for-profit, hybrid American “think tank” advocate for new nuclear energy build in the U.S. as well as a leading proponent for deployment of the U.S. nuclear supply chain globally. The Council’s members represents the "Who's Who" of the global “new build” nuclear energy industry.

Key Council strategic priorities include: 1) Launching the next wave of U.S. nuclear energy plants; 2) Revitalizing the U.S. supply-chain infrastructure and competing in the global market; and 3) Resolving key building block issues such as a sustainable fuel cycle.

The Council’s programs and activities features a monthly “Policy Exchange” program; a monthly Capitol Hill discussion series; a quarterly Capitol Hill Nuclear Roundtable; an annual State of the Industry Summit and Distinguished Leadership Award; a Global Perspectives Program focused on emerging markets; topical communiqus on “breaking” issues; and ten working groups including coordination of the U.S. Recycling Advisory Panel and Sustainable Fuel Cycle Task Force.

The Council has coordinated four major international fact-finding missions focused on in-country infrastructure in France, United Kingdom, Japan, Sweden, Finland and Switzerland. The Council is the sponsor of the U.S. Pavilion at the India Nuclear 2011 convention and a member of the American Nuclear Society’s 2011 India Mission.
